SPREAD

"SPREAD is a community dinner that funds artists’ projects and creative initiatives. SPREAD seeks to provide micro-grants for innovative projects and artworks conceived by New Mexico-based artists.

Inspired by FEAST in Brooklyn and inCUBATE in Chicago, SPREAD is a recurring dinner event designed to generate community-driven financial support to fund artistic innovation.

At each SPREAD, diners pay a sliding-scale entrance fee for which they receive dinner and a ballot. During dinner up to eight artists present short proposals, and then SPREAD diners vote for their favorite proposal.

At the end of dinner, the artist whose proposal receives the most votes is awarded all funds collected at the door to realize their project! Funded proposals are presented by SPREAD grantees at future SPREAD dinners."
